The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque In Pictures

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque In Pictures

I have visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque multiple times now and I can honestly say it never gets boring. Located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE, it is still an active place of worship for Muslims and is visited all year round. You don't however, have to be of Islamic faith to appreciate the stunning mosque. You can just visit to experience the stunningly peaceful environment and remarkable building.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has four Minarets and inside them, you will find a library, offices and a centre for educational cultural activities. Plus the mosque itself (including all of its halls) can hold up to 40,000 worshipers which is quite unbelievable when you think about it.

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque is also home to, what is believed to be the world's largest carpet and the world's third-largest chandelier made of Swarovski crystals imported from Germany. Everything from the marble exterior and the semi-precious stones to the pools of water around the perimeter makes this one of the most beautiful locations in the UAE.

When you visit the UAE please make time to visit this stunning mosque and as always be respectful. It is still the place of worship for many.
